Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the Surbiton / Claygate area. Food is always fresh, ordering on the phone is easy and the staff are friendly. Prices on the higher end for a takeaway but worth it for the quality.

A charming spot that captures the essence of traditional Chinese dining — the decor reminded me so much of days long past hanging around the back streets of Hong Kong. The food is cooked fresh and is delicious. Highly recommended.

I have been going to Ume since it opened up in Claygate. It has been consistently fantastic — some of the highest quality Chinese food I have tasted. The staff are pleasant and the atmosphere is very relaxing.

My personal favourite has to be the lobster with ginger and spring onion. Again and again I find myself drawn to this family-run restaurant that provides great service. The restaurant is warm, unpretentious and cosy.

We ordered a takeaway and were once again delighted. The whole family loved the crispy duck with pancakes, and the shredded chilli beef and noodles were outstanding. Good value and prompt service.

We quite often come here for an early supper with the kids. The food is very good with plenty of choice and we are always made to feel very welcome. A genuine local gem.
